VIENNA, VA, March 3, 2011 – In conjunction with International Corporate Philanthropy Day earlier this week, Trowbridge & Trowbridge (T&T) introduced several new philanthropic initiatives designed to encourage charitable giving by employees and enhance the company’s community outreach.
The initiatives included a corporate sponsorship and donation goals for a charitable organization, a matching program for employee contributions to eligible charities, and upcoming community service events.
In addition, the entire staff of T&T’s corporate office in Vienna, VA, spent a morning volunteering at the D.C. Central Kitchen (DCCK), a non-profit organization that prepares and distributes 4,500 meals a day to shelters, transitional homes, and rehabilitation clinics throughout the Washington, D.C. area. The volunteers chopped vegetables, prepared large kettles of soup, and washed dishes under the direction of members of DCCK’s Culinary Job Training program.
“Community consciousness is a core value of T&T,” said President and CEO Karen Trowbridge. “With these programs, we want to make it easier for employees to give back to the communities where they work and live.”
